A Canorous Quintet was formed in 1991 under the original name A Canorous Quartet. In 1993, after some line-up changes, the band became A Canorous Quintet (ACQ). Shortly after, ACQ recorded their first official demo The Time of Autumn. With this release, the band began to shape their sound and direction. The demo gained attention, and ACQ soon became a respected live act, sharing stages with Edge of Sanity, At the Gates, Katatonia, Dissection, Disharmonic Orchestra, Hypocrisy, and others.
