THE JÄGERMEISTER PRESENTS TOUR FEATURING UNEARTH AND CHIMAIRA
The Jägermeister Presents Tour is proud to announce co-headliners Unearth and Chimaira in a hard-hitting metal tour.
Unearth and Chimaira will co-headline the Jägermeister Presents tour in support of their new albums; Unearth’s Darkness In The Light, and Chimaira‘s The Age of Hell, which are both in stores now.
After over 12 years of defining what Cleveland metal and brutal music should sound like, Chimaira advances their trademark brand of heavy with their latest monster, The Age of Hell. As with most Chimaira records, the composition of the record was fraught with adversity. Longtime drummer, Andols Herrick, bass player Jim Lamarca, and electronic knob twister, Chris Spicuzza, had fallen away from the band, leaving Chimaira’s flagship member and singer, Mark Hunter, and guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt Devries with an album to record for their debut on Eone/Longbranch with no rhythm section or effects specialist. The splintered Chimaira could have stared at the sun, dissecting separate fires then converging into a singular sphere of blinding defeat. Instead, Hunter, Arnold, and Devries pushed themselves into frequent collaborator, Ben Schigel’s Spider Studios. Now, the eclipse of what you thought you knew about contemporary metal has begun.
Charging out of the late 90’s Massachusetts underground in a storm of thunderous riffs and focused aggression, in 2011 Unearth proudly stand at the forefront of modern metal. With Darkness In the Light, their fifth full-length, the quintet have delivered their most honest, powerful, and compelling statement to date, driving a fist into the collective gut of every image-obsessed wannabe metal band currently cluttering up the landscape and setting a new standard when it comes to marrying precision brute force and exhilarating melody. Since the band’s genre defining release The Oncoming Storm, Unearth has continuously crisscrossed the globe, becoming one of the hardest – and most consistent – touring bands in all of hard rock. Unearth has earned themselves Top 200 Billboard Chart entries for all four of the band’s Metal Blade releases (The Oncoming Storm, III: In the Eyes of Fire, The March, and Darkness in the Light).
Jägermeister, the brand that’s synonymous with music has a long history of supporting bands, both from a local and basement level to national amphitheater acts. The brand has spent almost two decades developing artists and has seen many go from obscurity to the top of their fields. “Both bands symbolize the attitude that Jägermeister shares with hard rock and metal music,” says Bill Henderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising at Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc. “Chimaira and Unearth have both worked with our brand for several years and it’s great that we can continue the relationship with this tour.”
“We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth,” says Mark Hunter of Chimaira. “Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over 10 years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this line-up and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we’ll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don’t want to miss this!”
“We are incredibly pleased to announce this fall’s Jägermeister tour in North America,” says Trevor Phipps of Unearth. “We will be supporting our new album “Darkness in the Light” and are anxious to play more tracks from that album. Hitting the road with us will be our old friends in Chimaira, Skeletonwitch and soon to be new friends in Molotov Solution.
We would like to thank Jägermeister for supporting this tour and we look forward to seeing you all on the road! Let’s make this a fall tour to remember!!! Cheers!!!”
Skeletonwitch, in support of their new CD “Forever Abomination,” and metal newcomers Molotov Solution will also be joining Chimaira and Unearth on the tour.
