Talking with one of my staff the other day, she prompted me to tally the number of times I have seen Iron Maiden. After watching back to back shows in Toronto and Hamilton. This now makes 21 times I have seen them live in the past 39 years. All of these performances feature Bruce on Vocals, I never saw a Blaze era gig.

Some data, 5 times outside of Toronto  (Hamilton, Montreal, Quebec City, Belfast and Germany) Largest – Wacken Open Air, Eighty Thousand People singing along, it was an experience. Smallest, Massey Hall, when Bruce Had just rejoined the band.

I wish one day they would do an ‘Evening With’ performance. Two nice sets. I know their performances are high energy. I’ve seen a few do it, I would like to think they could as well.

I like Senjutsu. I know many don’t. I guess that is why there was a need to bring Eddie out for the first song get everyone excited. Everyone knew Belshazzar’s Feast, they saw the Writing On The Wall, so the crowd began to warm up more at this point. There was absolutely no difference between the two nights, minus Bruce’s demeanour. Always chatty, he seems to be in great spirits and really chatty in Hamilton. The song list was identical. A bit of a letdown, I had hoped for a swap out of a song or  four. That said, I was was rather surprised the setlist did not even vary much from 2018. 11 songs were the same, 3 new songs and blood brothers was added in.

I recall on the ‘Matter of Life and Death tour’ Bruce saying Iron Maiden s not a greatest hits band. That is not what I am seeing here Bruce. Dont get me wrong, its great to hear Revelations and Blood Brothers. There are 13 albums Bruce has fronted to pick from.  SO many amazing songs, Quest For Fire, Mother Russia, Only The Good Die young. Oh look its Run to The Hills again. OK, I did have a good time, and got an awesome new t-shirt and will go see them again.

Showtime again today, one of four shows in a row. tonight is Captured! By Robots at the Bovine. Seriously I urge you to check this show out. Fucking robots playing metal. Pretty unique. Hope to see some of you out tonight
